New York State Police troopers arrested 19-year-old Bronx resident Charisma Gonzalez on the Fourth of July following an investigation that determined she was in possession of a pair of scalpel blades when she entered the prison. It is further alleged that she was planning to provide them to an inmate.

Gonzalez was arrested at the prison and charged with a felony count of promoting prison contraband. She was remanded to Dutchess County Jail in lieu of bail and is due back to the Village of Wappingers Falls Court on Tuesday.

The investigation was carried out by State Police investigators, members of the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision Office of Special Investigations.
